Java Newlife [v0.8.11] [Splendid Ostrich]

On the whole I find Newlife too limiting, other games have long since overtaken it.

Keep in mind this game is over 10 years old, SO's blogpost goes back to November 2014. Even back then I feel it might've been dated but that's what gave it appeal. I remember people would come in here and ask why there's no visual, "it's such a simple way to enhance the game!" Nope. There's thousands of visual games out there, go play those. Newlife was pretty special, at least to me.

Shout out to the one person who recommended Perchance and now everyone is trying it. I've started 4 stories now, though my main one is still the route I would take when playing Newlife. As someone else said I also enjoy writing and editing so I don't mind reviewing the AI's work. I'm actually having fun tweaking what it gives, better shaping the next paragraph and so on.

Absolutely, text games have their own appeal, separate from visial based ones. For me text games allow to insert my own fantasy imagewise without a low-quality art or photo to distract from it. Enjoyment of art and irl porn is highly dependant on one's taste. But fantasy is something anyone(who has it) can enjoy for themselves to the highest degree.

I've started 4 stories now...

That's pretty cool, I myself kinda exhausted my interest for now and probably will return later...which is kind of a pattern for me in anything concerning pron. Still, it's a great exercise to stretch your writing muscles...well, writing smut yes, but smut is the most classical genre there is so checkmate prudes.

yea.. wow.. careers and etc still have little to no real impact on the game.. and just now getting some simple events.
The best part of that whole update is the finally included save/load of wardrobe. Been doing that myself with save editing since the save system was opened up to be plain json files. That was also one of the best updates to the game ever.

Blue Swallow is very promising. Basically a Female Agent inspired game where the dev doesn't milk patreon. Very much recommend playing it.

Inner Empire I strongly dislike. It is the worst game I have rated on this site. I haven't rated many though, so it doesn't mean much. I have no kind words to say about the game or the dev though.

M! Sure, I myself like th writing and look forward to continuation. A slowburn but a nice read...more like a book tbh, but the world is nice enough and smut is tame for now, but fine. I'm...not really sure what you are critical about.

I would also port over my wardrobe, even editing some clothing to give them certain traits or boost their stats for fun. Kind of nice it's now official, I guess?

The student stuff is... interesting. It doesn't impact anything, though I'm curious what the scene is. I like that their graduation can be affected by their studies but if it's only a bad outcome if they're pregnant then you're forced to NTR your girlfriend, right? So many other areas of the game could've used more attention but I suppose this might've been a vote or SO's personal interest.

Honestly, if you want to go to university you should be playing Course of Temptation . Even the student jobs there are more involved than the careers here.

I'd like that game more if the classes weren't such a grind. Having to click "pay attention or slack off" six times a class for three classes a day is not good gameplay.

It's still a thing newlife has over most sandbox-style games.

Newlife's strength is that you plan the whole week, then just get the highlights. The problem is, there are no highlights.

X-Change Life is nice in that you plan the day and don't have to click click click on one location after the other to manually walk around like so many life sims (including Course of Temptation). But the genderbender focus of X-Change pills is also not everyone's cup of cum.
