VN - Ren'Py - Radiant [v0.7] [RK Studios]

This game is good! The biggest drawback seems to have a long wait in between updates. There are quite a few characters to interact with and unfortunately, they are not all included in each update. But with that said each chapter seems to be decent length. I look forward to seeing where this story goes.

"Radiant" offers an absurdly fanciful and thoroughly unoriginal story. The main character (MC) wakes up from a coma, then he recovers and somehow becomes the world's most successful photographer. To top it off, every woman he meets falls at his feet, treating him like he’s the epitome of irresistible charm.

Most of the side characters have weird personalities making them to seem unhinged and unappealing. They deliver ludicrous scenes, such as when the protagonist gets slapped twice by a psychotic woman who first tries to kill him but then becomes infatuated with him because he reminds her of her deceased son—a son who died in a car accident that the MC was involved in. Then there’s the asshole cop neighbor who inexplicably insults the MC, spies on him, and plots to blackmail him, while his deranged wife sneaks into the MC's car to spill the tea on her husband's schemes and her marital woes. This is just the tip of the iceberg; the plot seems to be begging for an award for the most ridiculous narrative.

Amidst all this chaos, there are a few genuinely sweet and emotional scenes featuring the triplets: Liv, Allie, and Maddy. They are the only interesting characters in this entire mess. However, the girls act completely clueless about sex, which feels laughably outdated in today’s world.

The game forces the inclusion of Brooke into the MC's life, despite offering multiple choices to avoid her. Why does it insist on pairing the protagonist with her or with any random, bizarre women who cross his path?
The fact that they all find the MC irresistibly attractive is so overdone that it becomes cringeworthy. Brooke herself is a tedious character: she's a “virgin mother” who has absolutely no sexual experience and had a daughter through assisted fertilization (WTF?). Her desperation is off-putting; she constantly tries to engage the protagonist in a relationship and begs him to teach her about sex. I had no interest in digging deeper into her character, but even after opting for the "friend route" and shutting down any sexual content with her, the game continues to throw awkward dialogues at me as if they were in a romantic relationship.
The game clearly has issues with its choices, characters keep bringing up things that shouldn’t be happening based on the player's decisions, which is frustrating.

On the plus side, the graphics are pretty decent. After finishing version 0.7, I can't help but think that if the game focused more on developing the relationships with the triplets instead of dragging out the ridiculous drama with the quirky side characters, the novel could be much more interesting. Honestly, the only thing that keeps me hooked to the story is what will happen to those three girls.

The story is really good with sad and happy moments, in addition the characters are very well written, each one has their own personality and their own problems, in addition the game offers several choices for each love interest so the player will be able to play as they see fit and in addition these choices have consequences, in short it is an excellent game that is worth it

We're not going to lie, at the beginning we all thought we were in for a AAA game. Excellent rendering (all the love interests are hot), fluid animations and the promise of important, impactful choices. And then time went by, a few touching scenes, but above all, it became the harem-type game you see everywhere: the girls are crazy about you at first sight, the choices take you well towards dialogues and a few different scenes (especially for the dark part) but nothing we haven't seen elsewhere (spanking or sleep sex scenes...). And even more damaging, the dark part, instead of taking you towards progressive corruption, just makes you look like an asshole. And the biggest problem with this game is undoubtedly its creator. The delays between each update are getting longer and longer, and the playing time shorter and shorter. The guy's sitting on a diamond in the rough, but he'd rather rub his buttocks on it than polish it... Which doesn't bode well for the future of this game. This game would be more than worthy of 5 stars if the early promises had been kept and the development of this game had been more consistent. But instead of selling me dreams, this game is just frustrating, and nobody is here for that.

I'm giving this game 4 stars because it is a pretty good game. Got to give
the Dev/Devs credit on that part. But it ends there! The development time
for the VERY little content that is put out ONCE A YEAR! is rickdickulas!

5 Stars for the first third of the game, 2 stars for the rest.

The developer sets up a perfect incest scenario at the start, only to completely cast aside the main cast in favor of padding your playtime with unlikeable side girls. These sidegirls fall in love with the MC within five minutes, get a sex scene, and then are probably never seen again.

Apart from the beginning, each update seems to bring more content for side characters than for the main ones. Every update introduces one or two new side girls who instantly fall for you, and, at this point, every woman who appears on the screen becomes a romanceable character. Aside from these dateable characters, the only other active presence in the story is your male friend.

It’s honestly disappointing because Radiant used to be one of my favorite games on this site. The main trio was absolutely lovable, and every small sexual interaction was filled with tension, whether it was the sisters jealousy, rivarly or naivety. Now, it’s just a mindless fuckfest with characters you barely know and zero consequences.

This game is just a big disappointment and you would be well advised to spend your money elsewhere and check the progress every other year.

When this game started out there were some lofty promises made and I'm not talking about a regular, acceptable release schedule.
Radiant was supposed to have this groundbreaking step up in its narrative structure where your choices really matter and so on and on.

There is no revolutionary high concept rpg system running in the background where your choices have these unique and surprising outcomes. It's a simple multi path porn game like there are probably thousands at this point.
Just pick a route and you're good to go, play it 3 times and you've pretty much seen it all, there are no hidden scenes, unique ways you can explore this game. Nothing but wishful thinking and/or straight up lies from the - sorry for the euphemism - untrustworthy devs.

It's only a mildly varying story that, although above average I guess, is just as embarrassingly written as you would expect from a game like this. Sorry to bust your "omg the prologue changed my life" bubble, get a grip. I'm aware many don't play for the riveting stories but this narrative is what I would expect a hormone ridden 15 year old to come up with after he takes his first bong hit.
You've seen it before and you'll see it again: devs throwing in random side girls after hooking the players on the main girls, bizarre detours, diversions, absurd storylines and cut out characters.
If you're into having constant narrative deja-vu, this is the game for you.
I for my part feel like I'm stuck in a nightmarish loop of cliches and tropes that border on satire, an irresistible MC that comes out of a coma and unlocks an infinite money cheat is not exactly what I would consider creative writing.

It's all so tiresome and played out.

I could point out the main story surrounding the triplets and its highly praised supposed emotional depth as a saving grace, but then again I'm not into mexican daily soap levels of characterization.
The only time there seems to be a spark in the pathetic writing is when the dev indulges in soziopathic sadism, so congrats if you're into that.

I really wouldn't care that much but the dev, acting like he's Hemingway, spontaneously rewriting for months on end like he's about to drop the next Paradise Lost apparently wants to be taken seriously as an artist or something. Well, if he is even writing for 99% of the "development", should be more likely he got hooked on another 100+ hour rpg he platinums during the breaks he takes from sh*tposting on twitter and lying to his supporters.
If you always dreamt of becoming a gullible pay pig enriching professional procrastinators, this is the opportunity of a lifetime.

The renders are ok I guess, the models are fine as well. The story should be an insult to your intelligence if you are able to dress yourself in the morning without help.

I discovered it by chance and at first it didn't seem like a big deal to me, but then I realized that it's a GREAT GAME. Possibly one of the best stories I have read, where after sleeping with a girl and having an accident you find out that you had 3 daughters with her and they come and live at your house.

The story is too offensive for me...

Despite everything, it is a great game not to call it a small work of art. And the story of the protagonists is what makes it unique.
The renders are very good and have good quality and workmanship.

The most negative part I find is the DEV.

The game has not been updated for almost a year, with false promises of updates that never arrive. DEV is just trolling his followers..

Thanks for reading my analysis. The analyzes I make are based on my taste for the game I have played. I try to be objective although there may be parts that Im not. What interests me about these games is that they have little dialogue (I don't like absurd stories just to read) and the SEX scenes. If there are good animations and good sound, for me it is already a GOOGD GAME. Of course the last decision is yours, whether to play the game or not. SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH!

The first 3 chapters are incredible. There's a good cast, good screen distribution, and character development. Maybe some reservations about Mira and a way to reduce Brooke's content when we reject her. However, starting from chapter 4... it becomes a mess. Many choices have no weight, just a few lines of dialogue, which seemed different with the presentation of the system. Choosing the "Dark Path" just makes you a jerk. But that's not even the problem; it's the ever-growing cast. These characters could be ignored, and the game would be better: Leah, Jade (Putting her content into Madison's Dark Path would be great), Rachel, Vanessa, Mira, Chelsea, Natalie (* Good at the beginning, forgotten in the rest; if they combined Rachel's content here, it might be better), Alita, and Norah (These two could be just one character).

I only don't include Brooke because she always appears and has some influence, like Bernie. So if you want to enjoy an experience without filler, ignore the other characters as much as possible, especially Rachel and Mira.

Game's really well made: nice visuals, nice characters, nice drama, nice sex scenes, etc. There isn't much to pick on except maybe for constant 5+ seconds transitions that you can't skip with LMB or Space.
⠀ But there is an issue. You see, this game is FIVE YEARS OLD yet only has ~6 hours of content! And the 3 main "paths" don't help. Pure and lust paths aren't that different except maybe you get more scenes with lust, but "dark path" is a joke. All choices associated with it are just MC being an asshole to everyone for no reason. The only incentives to stick to this path that I see is: you either finished everything else and curious about more content or you really want to roleplay as P. Diddy.
⠀ I have seen year old games made from scratch by single person that have more content than this. Not a clue what the devs are doing, but they are definitely not making "Radiant", which is funny considering how much they make from subscriptions and Itch sales.

Actual rating is 4/5, but since release version will only played by my grandchildren, I can not in good faith give it that much.

I have to say this One of the Most Heart-wrenching and Well-Done Visual Novels I have had the pleasure of experiencing.

Not knowing the Background Story at all or the premise I went in with Fresh Eyes just expecting a Flirty kind AVN with Side Pieces. What I experience was Me as The Father who got a Chance to Help, Love and Nurture (3) Beautiful Girls from the Obvious life of lack with my One-time Sweetheart.

Once I saw how this I made every effort to counsel them and show them that Love doesn't mean Sex by choosing the Pure Options and later with Alita the Wholesome Options . That worked out beautifully and I was very happy that I was not Penalized for making those kind of Choices as any Loving Father would.

My only concerns
1. Too much Swearing by MC (F-Bombs and JC's and G_Damn in particular)
2. Felt I had to walk a bit of minefield make Pure Only Pathway because I didn't understand the ramifications when I was only left with a "Dark" Choice (As opposed to Lust )

Going to buy it on Itch now and THANK YOU RK Studios for allowing me to enjoy RADIANT

The story is very engaging, and I like the models and personalities given to the various girls in the game. However one thing I occasionally do when playing AVNs with good writing ( and when given the choice ) is play the 'good' guy route. That being no relationships with girls, everything is proper and professional.
You...can't really do that in this game. I mean the OPTION is there, but even when you choose it the girls will constantly hound you over and over, and a lot of the filler dialogue reads as if you DID hook up with the girls. It's...mildly annoying, and very damaging to the overall story.

Everything else works fine, though. Not really any animation but the renders are good, the pacing is normal, the girls are cute and unique, and the music fits fine. It's not a BAD game, just a buggy one.

Did you also get lured here by the premise of living a fantasy of wholesome incest and cute renders? Let me stop you right there and ask you a question. Are you ready to play through mountains of completely unrelated content that doesn't involve the girls pictured on the front page in any way, shape or form? If your answer is "No," skip this one. This game is an unfocused mess.

My main gripes:

• There are way too many love interests in this game that you're heavily encouraged to pursue. The three daughters account for around 35% of the content.
• The game technically allows you to reject anyone you're not interested in but even if you do so, they're still heavily involved in the story while adding nothing to it. Example:

• MC behaves like a horny teenager a lot of the time. He starts stuttering and gets a raging hard-on the instant he sees boobs. I wouldn't have an issue with it if he was young and inexperienced but he's presented to us as a 30-something playboy who's been around the block and is no stranger to female attention. It's really jarring.
• Not enough content with the daughters (sexual or otherwise). I feel like I've barely gotten to know them by Episode 6 (7 hours into the game).

This game could've been a gem if it just stayed focused on the daughters instead of padding the story with a bunch of useless characters. Not to mention, it would've been finished years ago.

Its a game that has been here for quite a while. Unfinished but just about enough content for me to write a review about.

We start as random somebody who got stood up by his date, immediately hooks up with another date, creampied her, experienced a near death accident, and is transported at least 19 years into the future where you're rich, successful, and immensely well endowed. Yes, there's a lot of bs here already, and we're not even half through. You then find yourself guardian to three girls who cannot be more obviously your daughters from that date years ago, all of which cannot and will not hide their immediate attraction to you, and the story pretty much unfolds from there.

The story tries its hardest to take itself seriously but you simply cannot imagine the writer not bursting into fits of laughter as he writes this drivel. The MC of this game is like some sort of pornofied superman with zero faults and just about every and any girl within his vicinity is immediately driven to suck his cock, and Im not even kidding because the game tries its damnest to make it absolutely clear that every fucking female in this game think the MC is a greek god incarnate. There's something to be said about developing things naturally, and then this game pulls its pants down immediately and pisses all over it.

The 2nd problem Im having with this writing: There's just too many girls that dont, and shouldnt, matter. The game puts the triplets as its poster girl but then shoehorns so many other women in your direction that you can be forgiven for thinking that there wouldnt be any sex involving the supposed main characters of the game at all, befitting its unfinished state. I spend so much time fucking around with Brooke, Mira, and Vanessa before I even so much as lay a finger on the main girls of this game. By the time I reach actual penile penetration with one of them, the MC have already more or less fucked 4 different women within what seems like two weeks.


In conclusion...

Despite the poor writing, I cannot but give this a good review because ultimately if you skip past all the other girls that dont matter, and ignore the fact that MC is basically Capt "Playboy" America himself, then the game is decently written with enough to suggest relatability of a father meeting a set of teenaged children he has never knew existed prior. I like that the three girls actually changes their interaction based on the choices you make, and display emotional statuses when they inevitably see you favouring one over the other. Most other games would simply ignore the 'harem' state and just assume obliviousness between characters but this game, happily, is coded different.

A shame that the game is nearing 5 years of development and yet remains unfinished though I admit Im not altogether sure how the game would end given the events thus far. Happily though Im sure I'll never have to worry about it because there's more chance of an apocalypse than this game finishing any time soon.

Recommended because for all my criticism I still somehow managed to pull through to the end, and you simply cannot fault the level of effort. The game devotes enough frames to simulate emotion and movement - a rarity in H games to be savoured when available.

in general it has a lot of promise, with good graphics and in the beginning it had a decent story
but over the years it only shows sighs of a struggle, and a good cash grab by the dev, simply because he hasn't made a deadline in over 3 years
also in comparison to others who make more updates with better graphics to todays standards
this is imo now nothing more than a meme, and im pretty sure we will never see it gets finished

Amazing game the story and art is top tier the 3 daughters must be loved and protected at all cost, tho the onlyy downside with such a great game is the slow updates it is just so good that icannot wait to see more any longer

I just finished this game and it was incredible! I chose the lust path for redhead, love for the blonde and dark path for the dark haired cutie. The way the choices are set up gives it amazingly horny replay-ability.

Well that was one of my favorite games I've played, very well done and the scenes were so steamy. The characters feel real.



Also allows you to play as the bad guy or as the good guy, caters to both crowds.

Now waiting my butt off for the next chapter.
