Some have a certain dose of exasperation and facepalm too.
Moreover, realism usually turns out pretty sad. Most of us are not going to take it well if a person we get in a relationship with cheats on us or even suggests that they want another person to join. I have seen a handful of projects that handle it 'realistically' most of them end with a sad 'you lose and are alone' ending. That's a serious boner killer.
But almost all media is realistic and unrealistic. We want the person writing our taut military sci-fi thriller to have served in the military, so they can give us the details that draw us into the world. But at the same time, no one wants to hear about how BORING being a soldier is 99% when you aren't under fire. Porn is no different. People want to be thrilled and entertained. It's not a bad thing.

If you two-time your significant other and actually care about them, you're probably going to end up sad and lonely after they dump you for cheating on them. Unlike in a game, where they typically jump at the chance to be in a poly-amorous relationship with you and x number of other girls and OBVIOUSLY absolutely no other men besides you (the player).

Reality can be stranger than fiction, I've literal twins and sets of friends throw themselves at me for poly-amorous shit. It's not my thing, threesomes are a headache, a nightmare of logestics. And women get jelouse of eachother no matter what.

Depends on how much work is left on the last 10 scenes. There might be enough carry over they can finish them faster. IDK. If those last 10 scenes are just a couple of lines of dialogue long and a couple of images, sure it can be done but if they are actual scenes then there is no chance and it will show once again that they are lying to their supporters.
Possibly. I honestly don't know why people get so worked up over it. I was a supporter for a while back when it first came out. Decided the progress was too slow for the money, so now i wait for it here. *shrugs*
My citing of those two authors was merely to point out that, contrary to Son of Durin's rather silly statement ("Make something that sucks (other than a vacuum or sex toy) and you won't make money at that"), they both made a lot of money creating things that are absolute dogshit.

Listen, I am no fan of the Twilight Saga or 50 Shades of Gray, but to call them absolute dogsh*t is a bit much. It's a typical YA fantasy novel, the whole genre has a unexpected amount of success, even across generations. There is something about romance in a supernatural world that simply gets teens going...
