So if your moral compass find's this game reprehensible and you saw the tag lines... Why then did you play it, (with or without the patch you knew the intent). So you played through the whole game anyway and now you trash us for enjoying this self same game. This is a standard of hypocrasy that even the politicians would blush about. Yes, the MC is something of an asshole, especially on the harem route.
I actually think it is "better" / more realistic like this. Fully pleasing all women in the game all the time, will not work IRL.
Pursuing a harem by definition forces the women to share. Considering most women would likely prefer a monogamous relation (a fact that is voiced by both Elly and Ada, and of course Emily), a harem outcome is something of a disappointment to them and the Dev chose to mirror that in the sex scenes (which are harder / less loving on the harem route).
But, fortunately there are also exclusive routes for most of the women.

Damn, that sucks. Elly, Emily (especially post new-look), and to a lesser degree Jenna, are great. But I just have no interest in that other girl, and Ada...yea.... little weird.
I understand it's a lot of work to make routes for every possible combination to account for people's preferences, but that still kind of sucks.

I didn't trash anyone for enjoying it??? Where in my post did I do that? I don't care what other peoples fetishes are, I don't even care if you straight up read or watch straight up brutal rape porn (as long as if just consensual roleplay if done with real people). My point is that it's objectively fucking awful writing. To me having characters not act remotely like actual human beings is not sexy, in the same way a sex doll is not particularly sexy (to me). The MC is not seductive or charming, the women are simply written to be insanely attracted to him regardless of anything he says or does. That's bad writing and literally cringe inducing because it often reads like it was written by somebody with very limited interactions with the opposite sex, particularly in a sexual and/or romantic setting.
Now some of the games on here have at least mildly realistic writing, sometimes only for one or two of the characters though, but for the most part the writing is just bad. And I'm not talking about the quality of the prose (although that is certainly usually poor) I'm talking about the complete lack of ability to create humans that actually act at all like a human being. Everyone's just an archetype, "the naive one", "the slutty one", "the cute one", and they all worship the MC in most of these games without the MC having done anything to even be loved much less worshiped. You can usually treat everyone like absolute shit and they'll act as if you're their savior and nobody will call you out on your shitty behavior.
And it's not like they just ignore morality, in this game for example the MC gets super pissed at the stalker guy (and for good reason, stalkers are creepy) but fails to see any real issue with any of the fucked up shit he's doing. How exactly he's better than a stalker when he's cheating on his wife with his questionably aged daughters is beyond me, but apparently that's legitimate writing in the authors mind because that's what they went with. If you're going to cast him as a villain then cast him as a villain. There's a game on this site literally called like rape something, I don't remember exactly but you play as some dude and essentially go around raping people. That game to me is far less morally messed up than this one. Why, you might ask? Because it doesn't pretend you're a good person, it doesn't lie to you and have the inner thoughts of the character and the words of other characters somehow imply you're actually a really good guy, it admits you're a sociopathic asshole and therefore the writing is consistent with the experience, as opposed to being a molesting, cheating, raping asshole who somehow the game justifies as a good person.
TLDR: Write consistent characters and plotlines or I'm going to call out the bullshit, that doesn't mean I'm trashing other persons tastes, enjoy what you want out of a game.
I dunno how you got the idea he's played to be the good guy. He's definitely an asshole, no questions about it.
As for why the girls are as you say "unrealistic". I find it makes for better porn. Surface level tension between the characters that's just enough for a story to not feel completely without consequence. Enough to get you attached to the characters, but not enough to make you really care about them, where I can still play off a rape attempt as just some passing thing without having to have occasional therapy sessions amidst the PORN GAME I'm making. See, I find that when a porn game gets too real, that just ruins the mood for everybody.
