although DPC has educated them with bans and kicks in the teeth, he still fears the mood of the patreons enough to postpone the Q/A, which after a year of waiting is likely to be quite monothematic....

The Q&A is usually after the release of an episode since people have a lot of questions about the new episode, and there has already been one since the last release so it makes sense to postpone it.although DPC has educated them with bans and kicks in the teeth, he still fears the mood of the patreons enough to postpone the Q/A, which after a year of waiting is likely to be quite monothematic....![]()

Happy New Year!
I hope you had a great end to 2024 and a good start to 2025.
This week, I started by parsing the document with the dialogue I discussed in the last update. It took quite some time but was well worth it.
It is always baffling how many spelling and grammatical errors slip through the cracks during development. I haven't parsed any dialogue from phone apps or mini-games yet, but that's fast work compared to what is done.
I continued to fix a list of 50+ to-dos, some bigger than others.
I wrote, implemented, and tested the "Previously on Being a DIK" section.
I completed the remaining SFX work and will only add more if I spot an area where I missed something while playing.
After that, I worked on the Bios app. For episode 11, I wrote 260+ bios entries, more than I thought there would be. Coding all of that took me roughly a day.
I continued to play the game, focusing on the game economy, and I worked to balance it for mini-game enabled/disabled playthroughs. This episode was a bit tricky to balance, but I think I was successful - beta testing will tell if any tweaking is needed.
I playtested Bella's branch, and it was good. It gave me a new set of to-dos to fix.
I have also played and focused on mini-games disabled runs and checking that the phone behaves as expected during the entire episode - it's a very niche playthrough that's faster to play than the ones focusing on the story.
I have just finished working on the ending screens for the episode. It involved artwork and coding while recapping the important events of the episode in a report template. I have to test these while playing all branches, but they should be complete.
So, the list of remaining tasks isn't very big right now.
I'll focus on playtesting, fixing issues, and maybe even completing some remaining tasks in the upcoming week. There is still a lot of playtesting left on my end, and there are still animations left to render.
- Playtest the episode and fix any new issues
- Add 1-2 more clucks
- Analyze and add more art for the phone gallery
- Analyze and add any more needed chats.
I usually have a Q&A early each year, but I figured it's best to postpone this until after Episode 11 has been released. That way, more topical questions can be asked and answered, and I can focus on polishing the episode now instead.
Have a nice weekend

Considering December is over, I doubt it.Is there a chance of a December release?
That was exactly my thought, it's hard to judge where we are without knowing how fast those renders are completingNothing on the remaining renders doesn't really matter much without those numbers
this is not true and by the way DPC itself says so.The Q&A is usually after the release of an episode since people have a lot of questions about the new episode, and there has already been one since the last release so it makes sense to postpone it.
Totally, with out those numbers this pretty much pointlessThat was exactly my thought, it's hard to judge where we are without knowing how fast those renders are completing
You still think Transylvania belongs to you.please just a tiny bit of rationality![]()
I don't know about Maya, but I remember some Sage polls, maybe Maya is also a 'community effort' character.Someone said that the original assets were indeed made to look fake and even had it in the description. Not sure why DPC used them. Could be that he originally bought them for some other character but felt they didn't fit well with the body or maybe Maya's personality was planned to be completely different when he bought them, who knows?
Yeah, I also agree. I would make no sense and since it's never been mentioned I suspect they are not supposed to be fake in Maya's case. But like you said, it was a weird decision by DPC to use them on her.

Don'y worry bro, your alady is just waiting to see you!DPC the master of talking forever about nothing
If he plugs his PC directly to a powerplant and produces 50 animations in a week, it might happenI'm still betting until the end of January 2025.
" and there are still animations left to render. "Don'y worry bro, your alady is just waiting to see you!
Seriously though if his todo list is getting that short then I can easily see it being this month, possibly next depending on the bugs/errors he finds.
It could be very soon that true it those renders that can mess it upDon'y worry bro, your alady is just waiting to see you!
