Jeez... I'm normally quite harsh in my evaluation of things but I think you guys are WAAY too hard on Eva.

If you look back at GGGB, it's a story that is psychologically quite simple but Eva unpacks the psychology in a number of really interesting ways. I think that ORS was intended as a far more psychological and character-driven story and while I think she's struggled to deliver that while keeping her audience onside and providing regular updates that are playable and advance the story, you have to allow for the fact that A) ORS is a huge step-up compared to GGGB, and B) Eva has been extraordinarily productive and consistent despite clearly struggling with some of the decisions she made early on.

Could ORS have been better? I mean sure... but look at this thread and consider how many of the posts are basically people going 'I found this character hugely evocative and I want to learn more about them by having the story go in this direction'. Eva will learn from this and the next game will be even better.

There are times when this thread teeters on the brink of being a venue for out-and-out fan fiction. To look at that and consider this project a failure is just demented to my eyes.

Yep,one of the biggest problems with this thread is that people have insane headcanon fiction about EK and the characters...im guilty of this too,im not washing my hands.
But at least i dont try to make the patreons the villains when they are the ones funding this great game.

Yea. Many people complaining about literally anything in this thread. They want to completely change some things/characters for their own personal tastes/preferences instead of just sitting and enjoying the ride.

In the meantime Dev make new record of paid members, break 3k barrier and get 3119 patreons. People love this game

I think a lot of people need to discover the joys of writing fic...

I am a Minerva/Ian femdom fan and very much like the idea of Cindy fliting with Ian at Jiu-Jitsu and Ian walking straight past her at some party in order to lavish attention on the older woman that Cindy decided to dunk on in the pole-dancing class at the beginning of the game while Cindy is still selling feet pictures over the internet and humming-and-hawing over maybe going on a date with the black guy who has been fucked and summarily discarded by Lena, Alison, and Louise.

I don't see it as some sort of failure that Eva failed to provide this for me... she can't provide images to every degenerate piece of head-canon... the fact that she produced a game that inspired me to come up with the above scenario is a gift. Most games don't make me wonder what it would be like if various NPCs hooked up.

You mean like writing a fanfic? Oh yeah, it's perfect for those who have ideas and can write but are not good with the development. I mean that's how you start learning. By writing a fanfiction you improve your writing and use the least complex program. If you have the money, you can hire someone to code/draw meanwhile you write.

Despite what she said, it was always where it was leading. Just a bit more fleshed out characters and a bit more grounded (no drug gang). That's also fans' expectations

One more thing, do you guys think we will ever get more cosmetic changes? I get that tattoos, a beard or another hair style/color involves a lot of work. But Lena could at least get some additional piercing: nose, tongue, nipples, VCH, etc. It will be way easier to manage as they don't need to appear in every scene

Most professional female authors working in SF, Fantasy, and Romance will have cut their teeth writing for sites like An Archive Of Our Own.

From the outside, Fan-Fiction can seem like people just writing bad additional material for existing film and TV series but part of that process is also exploring the sexual possibilities of different characters and that side of things can get pretty debauched... the famous example is always Kirk and Spock but I saw a fic the other day about Always Sunny in Philadelphia in which Dennis basically gets off on giving Mac a series of eating disorders. Then there's the fic about the BBC Sherlock series where Benedict Cumberbatch's character is a 12 year old boy and Dr Watson is a stern head-master.

I'd love for there to be ORS fan-fiction... don't moan on the internet about how Eva is ignoring your head-canon, write a story about how Seymour gets bored of Lena and decides to focus his energies on Perry instead!

This is why I was thinking that piercings could be a good idea. They are mostly hidden and when they are not, it's a simple layer which can be turned around and put in place with ease.
Ivy is a good example, though not the best one because she barely has any scenes, but we've seen her tongue piercing once.

You only get fanfics if the original product is good enough. ORS isn't complete and a good chunk of characters are a mess in terms of relevance (most males are just fuckboys with bare agency and dreams) and consistency (many females go from prudish to slut at a whim).

Lena can still get in a relationship with Ian in chapter 12 even if she fucked with Jeremy before, provided both Lena and Ian have selected all love options previously and I guess Lena not actively fucking with Axel, Idk about Ian's side of things though.

From what i remember in the game's script, if Lena has actually fucked Jeremy this makes Jeremy confess about it to Ian, which triggers ian_lena_crisis and prevents late-game relationship from forming because it's then not considered "pure", which is a pre-requirement at that stage.

Maybe this is a bug. PilotLara - In chapter 11 - Ian can have a point in ian_cuck, which will let him tell Lena about his dream. Immediately after that there is a footjob scene, in which an athletic Ian could reset his cuckold status to 0. If that happens, the above scene doesn't make to much sense. Ian is no longer on the cuck path.

Maybe it's a change in the game script, but it doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Lena will bring it up no matter the relationship status on her turn, with one exception: if the Holly Trinity is about to happen then she will prioritize talking about skinny-dipping instead. (but i doubt that would trigger in the play through where Ian broke up with Lena for Cindy)

You are right. It does trigger the crisis. If Ian chooses the broken heart option. The one that Ian says he can't see Lena as just a friend. And Lena chooses that she still wants to be with Ian. They do agree to become a couple at the end of the chapter. Ian does act jealous the whole chapter though. And there is some flavour text. He also shares he is not thrilled about Lena seeing Jeremy behind his back. In chapter 13 if Ivy told Lena about Cindy she asks Ian about it and he flat out lies if he was still seeing Cindy before the beach house events. Lena can even bring up Jeremy as a candidate for the MMF threesome.
