Five years and a few hundred grand later and it's released as a retail product sold on the biggest games marketplace in the world, and the only free links are on piracy sites.

Develop a basic game in Ren'py, then ask for money on patreon and promise it will be completed soon every year, and then just add a few scenes to call it finished. Then announce three DLCs to make your patreons feel like clowns.
