Tayo Political Party TPP (Somali: Urur Siyaasadeedka Tayo UST) is a liberal political party in Somalia.[1]

Tayo was established in early 2012 by then Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, who is also known as Farmaajo, and members of his cabinet. The association was nicknamed Tayo in Somali, meaning Quality, because of the generally favorable reputation its administration earned during its brief tenure.[2]

In the 2012 Somali presidential election, Farmaajo finished in seventh place.

Ruling party

In 2017 Somali presidential election, Farmaajo was elected as the President of Somalia by the Federal Parliament of Somalia. Several members of the Tayo party were appointed as the government ministers, including party chairperson Maryam Qaasim.

Farmaajo and was defeated in the 2022 presidential elections by Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
